Director, Clinical Operations
Langley Memorial Hospital, Fraser Health Authority
As the Director of Clinical Operations at Langley Memorial Hospital, I play a pivotal role in supporting our organization’s Vision, Values, Purpose, and Commitments, with a strong focus on patient-centered care. My responsibilities include providing leadership and direction in the strategic planning, design, implementation, delivery, and assessment of clinical services across Langley Memorial Hospital, with a primary focus on medicine, access and flow and allied health service areas. I work closely with operational leaders to remove barriers to patient transitions and foster a culture of integrated, patient-centered care. By partnering with physicians, clinical, and support leaders, I ensure the sustainability of clinical programs that align with Fraser Health’s strategic priorities. Additionally, I oversee the development of policies to standardize practices, enhance quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness, and support the well-being and professional growth of our staff. My role also involves representing the site in the broader health service community and collaborating with our Foundation to align with Fraser Health’s strategic and operational goals. In my role overseeing Site Services, I manage the clinical aspects and address disruptions caused by improvements or maintenance of the physical hospital building, ensuring that patient care remains seamless and uninterrupted.

Experience stretches across the continuum of care including acute care, long term care and community care. I began my career in acute care at SMH where I delivered occupational therapy services to acute inpatients for eight years. I was involved in committee work to improve processes and support patients as they recovered and transitioned to home or long term care. Following my time working in acute care, I moved my practice to the Czorny Alzheimer's Centre, a long term care facility designed to support persons with dementia. This facility was purpose built and was the first of it's kind in BC. As the first OT at the facility, I developed and delivered the OT program guided the Eden Philosophy and had the opportunity to present on patient centered dementia care on many occasions. I later moved to the Specialized Seniors Clinic at JPOCSC where I delivered Outpatient OT to those living with dementia in community settings.
