Bio

Throughout my career, I’ve had the great fortune to work across the spectrum of care in many healthcare settings, while learning from patients and colleagues along the way. My background in Occupational Therapy has taught me to see the patient first and deliver healthcare in a truly patient centered manner.  I am a dynamic leader with a knack for building relationships and team cohesion.  As an eternal optimist at heart there is no challenge too big.  My passion for people and teams has been paramount to my success in my current role as a Director of Clinical Operations at Langley Memorial Hospital. 

 

I am a wife and mother of two amazing young adults.  I also live with a chronic illness that has taught me patience and resiliency.  When not at work, you can find me with friends and family enjoying the outdoors, camping and likely riding an ATV!

As a white, middle-class, university educated female, my positionality is shaped by a diverse array of personal and professional experiences. These facets of my identity provide a unique lens through which I view and approach various issues and topics and may lead to my misunderstanding of the experiences of marginalized or racialized groups.

Being white, educated and working in a professional field, I recognize that I have experienced certain privileges. These privileges include access to quality education, healthcare, and professional networks, which have collectively contributed to my personal and professional growth. This awareness of privilege informs my understanding of systemic inequalities and the importance of advocating for equitable access to resources and opportunities for all individuals.

I believe in the personal power of humans—their ability to effect change, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals. This belief underpins my approach to both my professional and personal life. I am committed to empowering others, whether through patient education, support, or advocacy.

My values are rooted in compassion, integrity, and respect. I strive to treat everyone with kindness and understanding, recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of each individual. Integrity guides my actions, ensuring that I remain honest and ethical in all my endeavors. Respect for diversity and inclusion is paramount, as I believe that embracing different perspectives enriches our collective experience.
